Overview

Ledviclear 90mg/400mg Tablet (Ledipasvir + Sofosbuvir) contains Ledipasvir 90mg + Sofosbuvir 400mg per tablet. A complete two-direct-acting-antiviral combination for selected hepatitis C genotypes and clinical settings; ribavirin may be needed in specific cases. Ledipasvir inhibits the HCV NS5A protein required for viral replication and assembly; sofosbuvir blocks NS5B RNA polymerase after intracellular activation.

Before treatment, assess HCV RNA, prior therapy, cirrhosis status, hepatitis B markers, other medicines and relevant liver and kidney tests. Cure is generally assessed by undetectable HCV RNA at least 12 weeks after completion (SVR12). Viral clearance does not remove the need for liver cancer surveillance in patients with cirrhosis. This tablet contains BOTH ledipasvir 90mg and sofosbuvir 400mg; do not confuse with ledipasvir-only listings.

Uses and Indications

A complete two-direct-acting-antiviral combination for selected hepatitis C genotypes and clinical settings; ribavirin may be needed in specific cases. Ledviclear treatment selection is based on HCV genotype where relevant, cirrhosis stage, prior antiviral exposure, coinfections and potential drug interactions. Before (Ledipasvir + Sofosbuvir) treatment, assess HCV RNA, prior therapy, cirrhosis status, hepatitis B markers, other medicines and relevant liver and kidney tests. Cure is generally assessed by undetectable HCV RNA at least 12 weeks after completion (SVR12). Viral clearance does not remove the need for liver cancer surveillance in patients with cirrhosis.

How Ledviclear Tablet Works

The active components in Ledviclear 90mg/400mg tablet are ledipasvir and sofosbuvir that act synergistically to inhibit the replication of hepatitis C virus (HCV). Ledipasvir acts by inhibiting the NS5A protein and sofosbuvir by inhibiting the NS5B polymerase enzyme, responsible for replication. Through inhibition of both the above proteins, the Ledviclear assists in clearing the HCV in the body. Ledipasvir inhibits the HCV NS5A protein required for viral replication and assembly; sofosbuvir blocks NS5B RNA polymerase after intracellular activation.

Clinical Evidence for Ledviclear Tablet

ION-1, ION-2 and ION-3 evaluated ledipasvir/sofosbuvir in genotype 1 HCV, with high SVR12 rates across defined patient groups; avoid attributing originator trial results specifically to Ledviclear. SVR12 is a standard efficacy endpoint in HCV studies; rates cannot be transferred to different genotypes, regimens or cirrhosis groups without qualification.

Side Effects of Ledviclear Tablet

Fatigue, headache and weakness; ribavirin adds its own adverse effects if prescribed. Side effects of (Ledipasvir + Sofosbuvir) may change when additional medicines are included. Discuss persistent symptoms with the treating clinician. There could be minor side effects in some individuals taking Ledviclear 90mg/400mg Tablet. Some of the common side effects associated with the use of this medicine include headaches, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, and insomnia. The occurrence of side effects depends on the state of health of the individual and also on other drugs that the person is taking.

Critical Safety Warning

HBV reactivation; potentially serious bradycardia with amiodarone; reduced ledipasvir absorption with acid-reducing agents. Ledviclear 90mg/400mg tablet contains BOTH ledipasvir 90mg and sofosbuvir 400mg; do not confuse with ledipasvir-only listings.
