Overview

Mekinist 2mg Tablet is a prescription-based anticancer medicine used in the treatment of melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer,thyroid, and Metastatic solid tumours. The active ingredient of the Mekinist is Trametinib which belongs to the drug class of Protein Kinase Inhibitors.

It works on the principle of inhibiting the action of an abnormal protein which is responsible for giving signals to cancerous cells to divide and grow. Trametinib is prescribed when there is metastasis of cancer, surgery cannot be done, or in order to prevent recurrence of cancer after surgery.
